The New Boundary Layer Theory

Abstract:

The fluid boundary layer plays an important role in the chemical vapor deposition process used for advanced sensor technology. In particular, the thickness and composition uniformity of the deposited materials is intimately connected to the uniformity of the boundary layer formed above the substrate. Understanding the basic theory involving boundary layer formation and evolution over a heated plate is therefore a requirement. AFRLs research into the chemical vapor deposition process led to a number of new theoretical and experimental results in the field of boundary layer theory. A short summary of the new results is provided in the following Chapters.
