Analysis of MTMC Participation in the REFORGER 76 Exercise

Abstract:

This study is an analysis of the Military Traffic Management Command MTMC participation in the Return of Forces to Germany REFORGER 76 Exercise. It is designed to provide a documentary narrative of the exercise deployment and redeployment phases and an evaluation of the MTMC performance in the discharge of its REFORGER mission. Although problem areas in planning and execution are identified and corrective actions recommended, the deployment and redeployment of the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault was a highly successful operation that clearly demonstrated the Defense Transportation Systems total approach capability to support the transportation of the equipment of an airmobile division, including several hundred assigned helicopters, from a CONUS origin to a potential combat employment destination overseas.
