Army Modularity and Command Relationships: "Who's My Boss?"

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA600216 | Open PDF

Abstract:

Establishing clear command and support relationships is fundamental to organizing for all operations. These relationships prescribe clear responsibilities and authorities among subordinate and supporting units. Some forces are given command or support relationships that limit the commanders authority to prescribe additional relationships. Knowing the inherent responsibilities of each command and support relationship allow commanders to establish clear responsibilities when organizing their forces. I intend to analyze how Army Transformation and Modularity affects the command relationships at the tactical level for sustainment units operating within the Brigade Combat Team.
