Math-Based Simulation Tools and Methods
Abstract:
These briefing charts review numerous mathematical methods for simulating crashworthiness and occupant protection in motor vehicles. The following methods are reviewed matrix operations, ordinary and partial differential system of equations, Lagrangian operations, Fourier transforms, Taylor Series, Finite Difference Methods, implicit and explicit finite element methods, and statistical methods probabilistic and regression analysis. The slides are labeled as follows HMMWV 30-mph Rollover Test, Soldier Gear Effects, Occupant Performance in Blast Effects, Anthropomorphic Test Device, Human Models, Rigid Body Modeling, Finite Element Methods, Injury Criteria Development, and Optimization.
