Performance Analysis of the Mobile IP Protocol (RFC 3344 and Related RFCS)
Abstract:
Mobile IP defines the mechanisms and protocol behaviors necessary to facilitate the seamless flow of traffic to a mobile host that roams from its normal home network. Of particular interest in this research, is how this capability might support the relatively rapid roaming of a wirelessly connected host. This research is focused on isolating and analyzing the constituent components of the Mobile IP protocol for the purpose of identifying any components that may be improved upon, or may be exploited by an attacker intent on denying or delaying proper handoff service.
