MALD-Like Interceptor for Low Cost Cruise Missile Defense (LCCMD)
Abstract:
This final report covers a concept study conducted for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency DARPA Sensor Technology Office to develop a low cost weapon system concept to counter a proliferated cruise missile threat. The low cost and high accuracy of cruise missiles may make them the enemy weapon of choice in future conflicts. Our study focused on three main areas 1 System Architecture Definition, 2 Interceptor kill mechanism Development, and 3 PerformanceCost Analysis, to define a weapon system concept and quantify its cost per kill relative to existing systems.
