Numerical Analysis of the Photo-Dissociation/Radical Oxidation of Formaldehyde by Ultraviolet Light in a Photolytic Reactor
Abstract:
The release of volatile organic compounds VOCs into the atmosphere has come under fore by the Environmental Protection Agency EPA and state regulatory agencies in the past several years. These releases come from a wide variety of sources from gasoline filling stations to industrial and military operations. A new pollution control technology currently under development utilizes ultraviolet UV light to break down the volatile organic compounds VOCs contained in an airstream. One pollution control equipment manufacturer has already employed this method in an installation in California.
