High-Voltage Pulse Generator Capable of 200 J at 5 kV

Abstract:

The 5-kV High-Voltage Pulse Generator is used to deliver high-energy pulses to initiating devices for explosive tests. While the triggered spark gap installed has a 200-J rating, the energy storage capacitor used limits the output to 57.6 J at 4.8 kV. At this limit, the pulser delivers a peak current of 2400 A into a 1.25-Q resistive load.... High-voltage, Pulse generators, Detonators, Spark gap.
