Gauge: Its Philosophy and Design

Abstract:

Gauge is a workbench for gaining understanding of the performance of large parallel logic programs. A Gauge user is provided with a variety of interactive tools for analyzing the execution of programs. This report describes the philosophy, design, and implementation of Gauge and its use in analyzing parallel systems. Keywords Shared memory multiprocessors.
