GAO Documents is issued every month in order to help the GAO staff and the members of Congress increase their awareness of and access to the many GAO information resources. GAO Documents is a comprehensive record of current GAO publications and documents, including audit reports, staff studies, memoranda, opinions, speeches, testimonies, and Comptroller General decisions. GAO Documents is organized into two sections an INDEX SECTION yellow pages and a CITATION SECTION white pages. The journal may be used for a variety of purposes, including in-depth research into a specific topic, search for a particular document, maintaining current awareness on a given topic, and general browsing. The INDEX SECTION is comprised of eight separate indexes, enabling the user to search for information via any one or combination of the following points Subject Index AgencyOrganization Index Personal Name Index Congressional Index LawAuthority Index GAO Issue Area Index GAO DivisionOffice index Budget Function Index. The CITATION SECTION consists of brief descriptions of the documents and often includes an informative abstract.
