ECM (Electronic Counter Measure) Signal Discrimination and Identification Techniques.

Abstract:

This effort involved the design, development and test of a stand-alone Electronic Counter Measure ECM Signal Monitor ESIM for the terrestrial Line-of-Sight LOS Defense Communication System DCS. The system developed monitors the IF and Baseband outputs of up to four digital radios while they are in service, to assess link quality. If ECM signals are detected, the level of interference and type of interference are reported to an operator. Key components of the system are a PDP-ll23 minicomputer, and HP 8581A automatic spectrum analyzer, and a high-speed 60 MHz analog-to-digital converter.
