Queueing Networks.
Abstract:
The study of queueing networks is a rather recent addition to queueing theory. In this paper we will review about the last 20 years of developments in the area. Primary emphasis is placed on Jackson networks and the major contribution of Kelly. We discuss queue length processes, waiting time processes, busy period processes and departure processes. We will also note a few new studies that have appeared in the area of network flows. Topics that are not discussed in detail in the paper are briefly noted in the final section. The bibliography can serve as an introduction for further reading in the area. Author
