Abstract:

This report documents the design and test of the Solid State Power Controllers SSPCs for the B-1 aircraft. The SSPCs were in qualification testing when the B-1 program was terminated. The testing and completion of the B-1 SSPC program, considered crucial to the advancement of the state-of-the-art in SSPC technology, is concluded and documented in this report. This report documents the accomplishments of the B-1 SSPC program together with the results of the tests completed during the study. Recommendations for future SSPC activities are included in the final section. A proposed MIL-P-81653 specification is attached as Appendix A.
