Field Test of the Stabilization of Supersized Water Droplets Condensed on Pyrotechnically Generated Hygroscopic Nuclei.
Abstract:
A field experiment is described which was undertaken to determine if water droplets grown on pyrotechnically generated hygroscopic nuclei at high relative humidities can be stabilized in size when exposed to lower ambient relative humidities. Droplets coated with surface active materials were observed to persist longer than untreated droplets in identical experiments performed off of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Author
