Aluminide Coating of Iron.
Abstract:
The kinetics of phase layer growth during the aluminization of Fe and during subsequent heat treatment homogenization were investigated. Pack Processing was employed for aluminization the variables studied were temperature, time, amount of Al powder in the pack, and the Al powder particle size. Homogenization was studied as a function of temperature, time and extent of prior aluminization treatment. A predictive model was developed to describe the changes in coating microstructure as a function of processing parameters. Author
