A Small ELF Electric Field Probe
Abstract:
The design and development of a probe for measuring electric fields at Extremely Low Frequencies ELF is described. The probe is spherically shaped and relative small 6.3 cm in diameter and uses a fiber-optic readout to avoid unnecessary disturbance of the measured electric field. The probe is capable of measuring fields between 10 mvmeter and 100 voltsmeter. Problems encountered in the design and packaging of the probe and operational data for the probe are presented.
