Abstract:

The Trump Administrations Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), released on February 2, 2018,included plans for the United States to deploy two new types of nuclear weapons to enhance theflexibility and responsiveness of U.S. nuclear forces.1 These included a new low-yield nuclearwarhead deployed on U.S. long-range, strategic submarine-launched ballistic missiles2and a new nonstrategic sea-launched cruise missile that the Navy could deploy on Navy ships or attacksubmarines.
