Electronic Warfare and Cyberspace Operations: Coordination, not Convergence

The continued emergence of developing technologies and associated fields has stimulated conversation and exploration as to whether greater efficiencies and more effective procedures can result from the convergence of certain EW and CO practices. The subject of converging (EW) and (CO) has achieved some resonance across the Department of Defense (DOD) since there are tangible, inextricable connections between the two fields. In evaluating the relative merits of convergence versus coordination, the actions performed in EW and CO should be judged by the same criteria as those actions performed in other combined arms in support of the GC.
