Investigation of Dehumidifying Agents for Submarines - Characteristics of Various Drying Agents
Abstract:
In order to ascertain the suitability of various substances for dehumidifying the air of submarines or other closed spaces, measurements will be found in this report on the amount of water absorbed by calcium chloride, lithium chloride, and mixtures of calcium chloride with other chloride. Values of the quantities of water absorbed at equilibrium are given for various desiccants. The rates of absorption of water by calcium chloride and lithium chloride are effective drying agents, and that there is no advantage to be gained by using mixtures of calcium chloride with other chlorides.
