Flash Point of 2,2 Dichloroethyl Sulfide (HD)

Abstract:

Few experimental details are provided with the 2,2-dichloroethyl sulfide (HD) flash point value that is currently available in the literature. In the absence of information about the experimental method used and sample purity, it is difficult to assess the reliability of the reported value. To address these concerns, flash point measurements of HD were conducted using two different closed cup methods: the continuously closed cup method in accordance with ASTM D 6450 and the small scale closed cup method in accordance with ASTM D 3828.
