Abstract:

The lightweight nylon jungle rucksack was utilized by all combat units in the RVN during a 30-day trial period. It is recommended that the lightweight nylon jungle rucksack, when modified be authorized as a WABTOC item for issue to US combat troops in the Republic of Vietnam, and polyethylene plastic bags in sizes 18 1/2 by 25 inches and 9 by 15 inches be stocked as standard items of issue for use with the lightweight nylon jungle rucksacks.
