Patin Analysis Paper.
Abstract:
A method for determining the nickel concentration in a plating solution by dipping a dimethyl glyoxime treated strip of analysis paper that has a baseline drawn across the width of the strip to show the depth of the plating solution to which the analysis paper must be dipped. The analysis paper is dipped into the plating solution for one second and then withdrawn. The concentration of the unknown nickel plating solution then is determined by comparison or from reading a calibration curve wherein the nickel concentration is plotted against the height of the red column developed for a known nickel concentration. The dip strips of analysis paper are made from a good water stable and resistant, absorptive paper e.g. preferably fast analytical filter paper having a base line constructed a predetermine distance from the width end of dip strip of analysis paper which have been treated with an alcoholic dimethyl glyoxime solution and air dried prior to use.
