Abstract:

The patent application describes a device for cleaning and coating a guy cable in a single operation cycle. The device consists of a light-weight aluminum support suspended from a pair of pulleys on a guy wire. A brush cleaner, a coating applicator and a material supply tank are attached to the support. A compressed air cylinder is attached to the material supply tank and applies compressed gas via a valve to force coating material from the material supply tank into the coating applicator. The cleaner brushes the guy cable prior to the material application as the device is lowered along the length of the guy cable.
