Comparison of Norethindrone-Containing OCPs to Desogestrel OCPs and Depro-Provera in Women
Abstract:
This prospective, longitudinal study examines contraceptive outcomes among active-duty military and civilian women who receive one of three different methods of contraception Depo-Provera, Ortho-Novum 135, and Ortho-Cept. Outcomes to be examined include method continuation, satisfaction, dysmenorrhea, menstrual bleeding, pregnancy rates, bone density, and plasma lipids. This summary report details the specific activities that have occurred during Year 3 of funding September 23, 1998 to September 22, 1999. According to the SOW, 4 major objectives and related tasks were to be addressed during this period.
