Dental Diamond Rotary Instruments. Test and Evaluation

Abstract:

In this test and evaluation of the quality and performance of dental diamond rotary instruments, the areas evaluated were dimensions, construction, shank roughness, concentricity, durability, cutting efficiency, and corrosion. The testing methods followed those of the proposed American Dental Association Specification for Dental Diamond Rotary Instruments, with some modifications to meet the needs of the USAF Dental Service. This study provided a means of comparing diamond instruments from different manufacturers.
