Burning of Potassium Metal to Potassium Tetroxide with a DeVilbiss Spray Gun . Supplement,
Abstract:
This supplement describes the improvements in the operation of the spray-gun-method of oxidizing potassium and sodium-potassium alloys. The improvements result more from changes in, and more careful control of such facotrs as air pressure, temperature of the metal and air and rate of burning rather than any mechnanical changes. The average weight of metal burned per gun tip is near 250 lbs with the burning of the high content alloy showing better results than pure potassium. Author
