Currents and Fields in an Asymmetrically Driven Coaxial Line
Abstract:
Cylindrical plasma pinch experiments are conveniently done in coaxial geometry. However, when a coaxial line is driven by a non-axisymmetric source of current, there result asymmetries in the magnetic field in the coaxial line which in turn will drive Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities. In this paper we calculate the field asymmetry.
