Basin-Scale Ocean Prediction System

Abstract:

An eddy-resolving nowcastforecast system for the global ocean with embedded basin-scale systems 132 Atlantic subtropical gyre, 9 -51 N, which includes the Intra-Americas Sea and a global model with progressively increasing resolution, 116 in 2001 and ultimately 132 resolution. These systems will include data assimilation of satellite altimetry, sea surface temperature and in-situ data.
