Program Evaluation of Outcomes Based Orthotic and Prosthetic Education

Major Accomplishments for Year 1 recruited Kate Muller, CPO, as Lead Orthotics Instructor writing of new Orthotics curricula and syllabi installation of new Orthotics Laboratory and equipment purchase of expendable supplies for laboratories expansion of existing Prosthetics Laboratory build out of smart classroom and Prosthetics Gait room recruitment for 25 Spring term Orthotic and Prosthetic students recruitment of 16 Fall term Prosthetic students trained 41 total graduates during Year 1 of expanded program. Achieved full NCOPE and CAAHEP Accreditation through 2009 for new Orthotics Program. Major Outcome Tools started in Year 1 creation of new midterm and final exams in each course developmentrevision of checkout criteria for all Orthotic and Prosthetic patient fittings development of Practical summative Exams for each clinical course developed Town Hall group focus Meetings for respective classes to provide criticism of ongoing teaching and learning development of Patient Survey for patient models to assess professional behavior of assigned students development of end of semester Student Survey to provide feedback on quality of teaching content.
