Prevention of Stimulant Induced Euphoria with an Opioid Receptor Antagonist
Abstract:
The protocol, sponsored by the Department of Defense, is a 6-week study examining whether Methylphenidate-induced euphoria can be attenuated by co-administration with Naltrexone In medication native young adults age 18-30 with a euphoric response to MPH administered on the Drug Feeling visit. In this double bind study, subjects will receive MPH and Naltrexone or a placebo to treat their ADHD symptoms over the course of the 6-week trial.
