Aligned Carbon Nanotubes for Highly Efficient Energy Generation and Storage Devices

Abstract:

As we proposed originally, the major objective of this project is to develop efficient energy generation and storage devices e.g. solar cells, fuel cells, supercapacitors by using vertically-aligned carbon nanotube arrays and carbon nanomaterials. We have demonstrated the use of aligned CNT arrays could enhance performance for many energy generation and storage devices. The aligned structure has also facilitated the surface functionalization and allowed an effective device construction. The growth of well-aligned CNTs with controllable length, diameter, and spacing has served the base for all of the work performed in this project.
