Abstract:

In October of 2010, the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command TRADOC, declared the Army a Profession of Arms after 10 years of what he termed persistent conflict. General Martin E. Dempsey charged each Soldier to understand and draw upon the roots of the Armys history, and relate the past to its current profession, culture, ethic, and experience to shape the future. This paper discusses the depth of the Adjutant General AG Corps as a Profession of Arms, the Corps contribution to the Army Profession over time, and how the Corps handles the challenges of persistent conflict today. The paper offers enhancements for the future of the Corps members as Warfighters and Human Resource professionals, serving Army manpower at its best.
