CBRN Decontamination: Multiservice Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Decontamination
Abstract:
This publication is designed for use at the tactical and operational levels. This manual provides multiservice tactics, techniques, and procedures MTTP for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear CBRN decontamination. It defines the roles of military units and staffs involved in the preparation, planning, and execution of decontamination operations. It addresses the requirements for the different techniques used in decontamination. This manual focuses on the need for all United States US forces to be prepared to fight and win in a CBRN environment. It addresses the support the Department of Defense DOD may have to provide to support homeland security HLS. The planning and coordination for CBRN decontamination takes place with the realization that the potential CBRN environment could be one in which there is deliberate or accidental employment of CBRN weapons, or deliberate or accidental attacks or contamination with toxic industrial material TIM see Joint Doctrine for Operations in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical NBC Environments.
