GPS/GLONASS Time Transfer With 20-Channel Dual GNSS Receiver

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: ADA509012 | Open PDF

Abstract:

One of the worlds two global satellite navigation systems, GPS, is already fully operational April 1994 and the other, GLONASS, will become operational by the end of 1995 or early 1996. Each will offer, independently of the other, precise location and time transfer continuously anywhere in the world and indeed in space itself. Many potential users, in particular the civil aviation community, are keenly interested in a joint GPSGLONASS operation since it would offer substantial advantages in defining and maintaining the integrity of the navigation aid. Results are presented on the characterisation of GPSGLONASS time comparison using a 20-channel dual receiver developed constructed at the University of Leeds, UK.
