Miniature Internal Combustion Engine-Generator for High Energy Density Portable Power

Abstract:

Miniature internal combustion enginegenerators provide high energy density for portable power applications, potentially exceeding 1500 Whrkg for a 72 hr mission. Operation on JP-8 from cold startup to steady operation has been demonstrated at the 300 W scale. Miniature enginegenerators can be acoustically silenced for low noise operation.
