Future Combat Systems (FCS) Creates Cannon and Mortar Synergy

Abstract:

In June 2008, the first FCS Manned Ground Vehicle MGV, the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon NLOS-C, will be on display in Washington, DC, marking the first new Army cannon in many years. The NLOS-C is one of the eight MGVs. Program Manager FCS Brigade Combat Team PM FCSBCT is leveraging previous and current research and development efforts to create synergy between cannons and mortars, without duplication of effort. This is a quantum leap forward in fire support capabilities for the Army.
