The Department of Defense's Second Chasm in RFID-UID Technology Adoption
Abstract:
This study examines the possibility of the existence of a Second Chasm in the DoDs Radio Frequency Identification RFID and Unique Identification UID adoption. The study focuses on the DoDs small business partners willingness to conform to the RFID-UID mandates and their reasons why. The compliance information was collected through anonymous surveys of DoD small business suppliers. The study then discusses the results of the survey and the relevance of the data to the DoD, and concludes with our findings and recommendations for alternate implementation plans for the mandates.
