Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Annual Report 2000
Abstract:
Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Relief Society is incorporated in the District of Columbia with its headquarters located in Arlington, VA. The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Service of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need, and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs. In 2000, the Society continued to enjoy a strong partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps while the dedicated volunteers and employees of the team enthusiastically carried out our mission of helping active duty and retired sailors, marines and their families in time of need. The Society responded to requests for financial assistance in nearly 53,000 cases, disbursing 40.9 million in interest-free loans and grants.
