Interim Bioventing Pilot Results Report for LPST No. 98508, Building 675, Fort Bliss, Texas
Abstract:
The purpose of this project was to assess the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination, if any, present beneath LPST No. 98508, and to perform a bioventing pilot test to determine if air injection bioventing would be a feasible remedial alternative for any contamination encountered. The installed pilot test system is capable of supplying air oxygen to all contaminated subsurface soils located below the former tank excavation site. Biodegradation rates observed during the pilot test indicate that bioventing is a technically feasible alternative for remediation of contaminants at the site to below risk-based criteria. A Field Activity Report FAR has been prepared in accordance with TNRCCs Reporting Guidelines for LPST Cleanups in Texas PST 93- 01 to summarize the assessment activities and the implementation of remedial actions on standardized report forms.
