High Resolution 3D Simulation for Surfactant Enhanced Aquifer Remediation
Abstract:
The goals of this project were to develop advanced modeling and computational methods for surfactant enhanced aquifer remediation SEAR, and to apply the algorithms to practical recovery problems. The investigators added several features to the current modeling capabilities for SEAR. They also developed new multigrid iterative methods for use on dynamically adaptive grids. The research was applied to several field tests, including Hill AFB sites OU1 and OU2, MCB Camp Lejeune, the Savage Well site in New Hampshire, and a TCE site at Cape Canaveral.
