Bulk CS Overpack Salvage Drums United Nations (UN) Performance Oriented Packaging (POP) Tests

Abstract:

The U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center DAC, Validation Engineering Division SIOAC-DEV, was tasked by U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center ARDEC to conduct United Nations UN Performance Oriented Packaging POP tests on bulk CS salvage drums. UN POP tests were conducted to determine if these salvage drums were suitable to be used for shipment of bulk CS to Pine Bluff Arsenal PBA for demilitarization. The salvage drums used for shipment of bulk CS met all UN POP, Packing Group II, test requirements.
