Abstract:

This Master Plan provides strategic guidance for all automated document conversion ADC acquisitions within the Department of Defense DoD. For the purposes of this Master Plan, ADC guidance focuses on conversion from papermicroform analog to digital used by a computer formats, although the need for digital to digital conversion is addressed. This Master Plan views document conversion as an activity within the records management business process. The Master Plan follows three basic themes 1 follow existing policy, 2 use a commonly shared DoD business process that also provides practical business rules, and 3 implement a flexible document conversion strategy based on technical standards that provides the Department with sharable converted documents.
