Abstract:

Armstrong Laboratorys Environmental Sciences Branch of the Occupational Medicine Division ALOEMH helps Major Air Commands MAJCOMs and installations in preparing for public health assessments PHAs. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry ATSDR conducts PHAs at all National Priorities List NPL sites. Part of the preparation is to identify data gaps that may need to be filled for completion of a PHA. This sampling plan describes a sampling event in the South Tucson area the area surrounds the Tucson International Airport Superfund Site TIASS, the site of Air Force Plant 44. The plan outlines the approach used by ALOEMH and Region IX USEPA and ATSDR to collect private well water samples. ATSDR will use the analytical data to assess exposure pathways for the PHA at the TIASS.
