Abstract:

This manual provides guidance for the preparation, coordination, publication, distribution, implementation, and review of DoD Directives, DoD instructions, DoD Publications, and their changes hereafter referred to collectively as DoD issuances. It also provides guidance on the preparation of documents for the Federal Register. This Manual applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense OSD, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense IG, DoD, the Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities hereafter referred to collectively as DoD Components. This Manual is effective immediately it is mandatory for use by all the DoD Components.
