Education in Brazil
Abstract:
Brazil is a sleeping giant in the world community. What is lacking in this country is government support and the will of the people to move forward in pursuing educational excellence. This research paper reviews Brazils educational system from pre-primary schools through graduate education. Private schooling as well as vocational and technical education are also covered. There is a section that discusses how outside organizations, such as the World Bank, have tried to help. The heart of the paper is the section on issues and problems. Eight specific concerns are identified including too few schools and too much turnover in teachers. Also noted are the high student dropout rate and a lacking scientific tradition.
