Abstract:

This report describes impressions of the Author and provides a preliminary assessment of the status of computer sciencecomputer engineering research and education in Central Europe Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Poland. It is based on visits made by the Author to each capital city. Ideas for promoting American-Central European cooperation are outlined, including a plan for organizing a series of three workshops that would advance the state-of-the- art in high-performance computing.... Transputers, Parallel systems, Robotics, Neural networks, Parallel algorithms.
