Drug Abuse: The Crack Cocaine Epidemic Health Consequences and Treatment.
Abstract:
The use of crack cocaine reached epidemic proportions in this country at the end of the 1980s. Due to the unique characteristics associated with crack addition and the populations that use it, the epidemic created a host of new problems for the public health and drug treatment communities. In view of the devastating social and health effects created by the crack epidemic, you requested that we obtain information on the 1 health consequences of the epidemic and 2 types of treatment available for crack addicts.
