After Action Report: EN DFT 2406, Exercise 'Caminos De La Paz 92', Costa Rica.
Abstract:
Concept of the Operation. The 43rd Combat Engineer Battalion Heavy provided a Task Force to participate on a U.S. Southern Command sponsored engineer Deployment for Training DFT exercise Caminos De La Paz 92, Costa Rica. The exercise was conducted from 15 January to 15 May 1992. The Task Force consisted of an Active Component AC Headquarters element to exercise command and control over all operations and a reinforced Combat Heavy Engineer Company for long duration projects. The exercise was structured so that the AC DFT was combined with a series of small units 15-50 soldiers of Air Force and Army National Guard and Reserve Components RC Overseas Deployments and Training ODT. The primary mission of the Task Force was to enhance training and readiness, to support the Costa Rican government and to help develop the infrastructure of the country through the construction andor renovation of roads, bridges, and schools Humanitarian Civic Action HCA projects.
