Abstract:

Prototyping with Application Generators Lessons Learned from the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System Case. This study reports the lessons learned from the use of software application generators by the Navy Management Systems Support Office NAVMASSO to develop a management information system to automate manual Naval aviation maintenance tasks-NALCOMIS. With the use of a fourth-generation programming language, NAVMASSO has been able to salvage an information system project that was projecting cost and schedule overrun and experiencing management difficulties with outside developers.
