Abstract:

The 243rd Engineering Installation Squadron EIS and the 265th Combat Communications Squadron CCS, South Portland Air National Guard ANG station hereinafter referred to as the Station is located in South Portland, Maine. Both the past and current operations have involved the use of potentially hazardous materials and the disposal of wastes. Because of the use of these materials and the disposal of resultant wastes, the National Guard Bureau NGB has implemented the Installation Restoration Program IRP. The IRP is a comprehensive program designed to Identify and fully evaluate suspected problems associated with past hazardous waste disposal andor spill sites on Department of Defense DoD installations and Control hazards to human health, welfare, and the environment that may have resulted from these past practices.
